Possibly one of the most interesting bands we've run across this year. Coming out of LA, Bodies Of Water are a musical collective that has gathered around the sonic vision of their two founding members David & Meredith. Consequently many would push them onto the Arcade Fire band-wagon but that would be lazy!!
This is punk spirited, melodramatic, folksy, progressive rock with each song taking on a life of its own within its own mini-movie. Things change direction unexpectedly; instrumentation is varied with the number on stage swelling to up to 11 at some gigs. The band is forging ahead, putting out music on their own label but only in their own vicinity. Download 'These Are The Eyes' taken from their debut album which is released stateside later this month. Let's hope they grace this island soon.
