Biography

With a focus on harmonies, grooves and cleverly-crafted lyrics, Cheka are quickly becoming a recognised band on London's music scene. Formed whilst living on a barge on the Thames the band have now relocated to a lock-up under the Westway.

Regularly pulling in a faithful crowd at their monthly night 'Club Foot' the band have also played high-profile nights, such as The Bronze Club, and festivals 'Artisit' in Galway and 'Abril No Tan Cruel' in Madrid. With a new demo produced by Brett Shaw, who has worked with Florence and the Machine, The Twang and Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes, it appears that their blend of rock n' roll and rhythm and blues will not be such a well-kept secret for long.

Their debut EP, The Fool, is set to be released in early Summer 2009.
