Biography

Devils River was first cooked up by Johnny (Guitar/Vox) and Pete (Bass) in 2003 and shortly after Bill replied to the 'need a drummer' ad in a local music store.

In the early days we stuck to electric blues covers but it wasn't long before the creative need for self expression led to an album of original tracks being recorded and released in 2005, incredibly we outsold Madonna and Robbie Williams in our local Southport HMV artists who also released albums in the same week!

2007-2009 saw the writing and recording of Deal with The Devil our latest offering which was released at the beginning of 2010.

The band name is evocative of the river of devils and demons we all have to paddle through every day and a reminder not to get entrapped by the spiritual void of the daily rat race and materialistic superficiality.
It is also a place of outstanding natural beauty in Texas.

We hate intolerance and injustice and love real people, real music and having a real good time, so we thought we'd share our fave Hillbilly Electric Rock Blues number with you, its called Moonshine and its only available for free on Strummerville - hell yeah!
