Biography
Mumford & Sons started as antique dealers in 1994, and after dabbling in undertaking and bankrupsy, decided to utilise their minimal musical skills. They met up again whilst wigging out irregularly at grimy folk venues with sticky floors in London. They have recently streamlined their set-up to become a four-piece folk’n’roll band, living in each others’ basements deep underground with rats and umph-gah. They write songs about swimming in dirty water and use country instruments such as double-bass, banjo, dobro, acoustic guitar, piano and washboard. They all like to sing.
