Shepherd’s Bush-based three piece, HARES, is the powerpop-sushine-grunge brainchild of singer/guitarist/fiddler Robb Skipper, who has played with a roster of acts including Larrikin Love, Patrick Wolf, The Holloways, The Moulettes, Jamie T and the Urban Voodoo Machine. HARES combine the lovelorn themes of the great rock n roll singers like Roy Orbison and Bruce Springsteen with the soaring/ searing guitars of The Pixies or The Jesus and Mary Chain. In true Strummerville DIY style they’ve made Coastlines, the first track of their upcoming EP, available for free download.
“Beautiful soulful minimal guitar that touches base with Velvets’ haze rock” (Pure Groove)
“Skewed pop with a dark undercurrent” (nme radio)
“combines twangy retro guitars and a quirkiness that is all their own. Its a good look.” (BIG ISSUE)
