Conceived as a sort of situationist prank by a group of Norfolk(UK) based misfits Scumbag Philosopher are a nihilist-baiting mismatch of a crazed girl mauling her two drum kit. a grumbling, misanthropic, borderline aspergers front man and cascading, caterwauling guitars.
The band have recently toured with The Fall and make an odd yet still strangely catchy kind of post-punk racket – alienated, knowing and not afraid of wearing its smartness on
its sleeve.
Scumbag Philosopher line-up two releases in 2011 “God Is Dead So I Listen To Radiohead” (single) – with its crazed companion promo vid – and an album “It Means Nothing So It Means Nothing”.
“God is Dead…” has already ben played on national Spanish, Swedish and French national radio.
Indie obscurantists may notice a similarity between Scumbag Philosopher and sometime Norwich grumble punkers F*** Dress. The latter moniker has been sold, for a considerable purse, to a well known youth fashion retailer who will use it for a new line of edgy urban clothing for the more potty-mouthed young woman.
